Youth Basketball
In the Forest City Y’s youth basketball programs, we strive to instill a love for the sport and a love and competency of the fundamentals needed to effectively play the sport.
As kids get older and progress through our programs, we add layers of teamwork and competition to help give focus to their developing fundamentals.
So, make sure to sign your little ones up and give them the gift of dribbling, shooting, and teamwork!
1st-2nd Grade Youth Basketball
Join us for an exciting season of basketball! Through hands-on coaching from Y staff and dedicated volunteer coaches, participants will develop fundamental skills in shooting, passing, and dribbling, while learning the value of teamwork and sportsmanship in a fun, supportive environment.
The season begins with a two-week training camp focused on foundational skills, followed by six weeks of team practices and gameplay. For the final four weeks, games will take place on Thursdays, with practices held on Tuesdays only.
Practices will run from 5:15-6pm. Game times TBA.
All participants will receive a Y basketball jersey. Please remember to bring clean gym shoes to each session!
