Two $1,000 college scholarships to be awarded

 FOREST CITY- The Forest City Y is accepting college scholarship applications from high school graduating seniors who plan to pursue a career in a social service profession. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to aid in the cost of college tuition. Applications should be submitted to the Forest City Y by Friday, March 30, 2012.

 The Y administers a scholarship fund that was established through a generous contribution from the estate of Merrill G. Oleson. Oleson devoted his professional career of 36 years to the ideals of the YMCA.

 Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to deserving high school graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing a college degree in social service or people-serving professions and have exemplified personal characteristics of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

 Applications will be accepted at the Forest City Y through Friday, March 31, 2013. The application form is shown above and is also available at area high school guidance offices.
